It occupies the former site of freight train facilities.
The building contains two wings and reflects the diverse neighborhood with its city like mix of functions. The Lakefront Center includes the four-star hotel Radisson Blu, various restaurants, at least 5000 square meters of office space as well as 24 exclusive duplex apartments.
The public hotel area with lobby, restaurants and conference center is facing the lake. Some rooms and suites are lined up along a main corridor of different widths and depths.

The u-shaped courtyard faces Mount Pilatus and provides natural light to the office wing.
With a unique view over the city and the mountains, the apartments on the 6th and 7th floors line up like a cornice around the building.
The Lakefront Center is characterized by exciting cornices and deep cuts, breaking the volume of the massive front. The skin oft he Building consists of an abstract, sculptural double glazed facade with a layer of colored glass panels. The colored sunshades lend the building a playful character in contrast to the pure glass facade, and alludes to its urban mixed use.

The luxury hotel „City Hotel Radisson Blu“ is part of the multifunctional Lakefront Center which includes offices and apartments.
The public area of the hotel with lobby, restaurants and conference area is located in the main area of the building, facing the lake and harbor.
The main entry is submerged in cool pastel tones, dominated by a graphic, indirectly lit glass wall by the artist Peter Roesch. Its design reflects the element of water.
A full-length light wood ceiling spans over a translucent entrance level. A spacious stairway leads to the first floor and to the more private meeting and conference rooms.
