After the “Valser Path” by Tadao Ando, the arrival experience to the 7132 Hotel will be one that captures the amazing intersecting spherical spaces of the natural phenomenon Gletschermühlen. Over millions of years, glaciers melt, mixing with sand and carve out intersecting curvilinear volumes in the stone of mountainsides and riverbeds.
The new hotel lobby, an adjacent bar and restaurant, as well as spas, and a public assembly hall for the villagers of Vals will be carved from curved stone utilizing 21st Century CNC techniques. New technology and technique will allow for a new spatial energy connected to ancient local phenomena. Rising out of the mountain-embedded Gletschermühlen spaces will be an ice like form in matte, white translucent glass. In this ice volume, seventy-three luxury hotel rooms will be oriented to provide the best views of Vals. All rooms will have balconies, with clear glass.

The geometry also forms green terraces that open out from special rooms. A public café at the top will allow an accessible view over the village. The façade will be a special buildup of an outside layer of glass in a non-shiny matte finish and a clear insulated glass unit on the inside. The matte outer glass panels will slide to the side at the balconies and in other select places, capturing the best views.
The structure is a simple white board form concrete where the walls between the rooms are supporting the building. Due to the spans that do not exceed 8m, shifting wall formations are transferred by the floor slabs. State-of-the-art geothermal heating and cooling, throughout radiant slabs, green roofs, natural ventilation, and organic materials will provide maximum green comfort.
